Water.

The other day I touched on the fact that rain inspires me.  We had another beautiful rain last night but I discovered that I cannot capture the images of rain the way I want to until I invest in another camera.   High speed and decidedly more expensive than the one I have.  Come to think of it, the camera I have just may have a high speed feature as I haven't read the manual.  (I've only had it 6 yrs.  Give me time).....

So you thought this blog was supposed to be about fashion.  Well, it is.  But its also about what inspires me. But just so it won't seem like I'm deviating from the original point of the blog, here ya go.

See?  Water. Fashion....

Thats all the actual 'fashion' for today but I hope that you enjoy the following photos and they inspire you as much as they inspire me.

You can catch me doing this anytime there's a downpour.
(not me in the photo though).

Beautiful.

I had a rainhead shower in my hotel room in Miami and took such extended showers I had the 'prune look' several times during my stay.

Fellow rain lover.
I would so do this too.

Timeless.

This post has had 3 different incarnations.  It wasn't even originally about Cher.  It was about Donna Karen, then Roberto Cavalli.  Then I looked up at the TV and spotted Cher.  And here we are.

Some may wonder what Cher has to do with fashion.  Well, quite a bit.

From the way she wore her hair,

to what she wore in her hair.

That rockin' model body

and the editorials stemming from that rockin' model body.

Chameleon haircolor

to almost no hair at all,

she made it ok to change.

Unconventional beauty

she made us accept it.

  Forever timeless.

I woke up to snow.  (?????!!!!!)

Plans crushed (ok maybe thats a little dramatic), I had to move on to something else.

Just who is "Enfant Terrible?"

Remember when Alexander McQueen was called "Enfant Terrible" and considered the "Bad Boy of Fashion" because his designs were over the top?  Or as I like to say, "Thought provoking?"

Well, as we know, McQueen is now considered Boy Genius.  I personally think he was a genius all along.  I mean look - Who else had us talking about fashion like McQueen did?  Maybe you didn't really fancy walking down the street with a wheel attached to your head but he got your attention didn't he?

So just who is worthy of the 'Enfant Terrible' title now.....

Meet Michael Lau

A designer who presented at Hong Kong fashion week in 09.

And O did he present -

No words.  Yet somehow I appreciate his artistic view.

How about Gareth Pugh?

An English designer who began his career as a costume designer.

Never to be sexist, perhaps Agatha Ruiz de la Prada?

(I've always wanted to wear a baguette on my head)

There will never be another McQueen, but its nice to see designers who don't mind making us 'think' the way McQueen made us think.
