Smoking Meisel.

You know Avedon.  You know Demarchelier. You know Scavullo.  And I'm sure you know Steven Meisel.

I say the word "genius" here a lot but I don't throw it around. I said YSL was genius.  I said Halston and McQueen were genius. Find me any fashion person who'd argue that and I'd quietly retreat in their insanity.  So I'm adding Steven Meisel to that list.  Creator, innovator, Meisel is it.

Gia O Gia.

There are few images of Gia Carangi that I have not seen.  When I first saw her I thought she was one of the most beautiful women I'd ever seen.  I searched everywhere I could to find out more about her and to look at her iconic photos.....when I came up on this image of her by Chris von Wangenheim in Sasha Charnin Morrison's book Secrets of Stylists, I was quite surprised as I'd never seen it before.

Gia was a rock star model if there ever was one.  She could do soft, glam, androgynous and everything in between. Love her. 

The beads never left me.

It seems my obsession with beaded jackets has not waned since I found this lovely at a flea market a a month or so ago. I just love the idea of paring something thats suppose to be dressy and making it very casual.  I like to wear my lovely with cargo pants.

I call them My Bananas.

Yard sale finds amuse me and the hunter in me loves the thrill of the chase.  At a time when I'm finding myself semi bored with jewelry (unless we're talking De Grisogono), I hadn't found much lately that caught my attention.

Until I found these.

They're handmade of faux pearl and were so 'odd' looking, I had to have them.
