Throwback - Kristen McMenamy
When Kristen McMenamy first started modeling in 1985, she was considered a rare bird, 'The Androgynous Model.' Some didn't know quite what to do with her. But Peter Lindbergh and Steven Meisel certainly did, shooting her for French and Italian Vogue respectively.
Kristen went on to become the face of Bally, Fendi, Chanel, Versace and Calvin Klein ad campaigns as well as walk in shows like Jean Paul Gaultier, Dior, Givenchy and Ungaro.
In 1993, Kristen famously shaved off her eyebrows which according to NY Magazine, created a booking frenzy.
Today, Kristen stills models and continues to hold her own....even up against fellow icon Naomi.

Like the Parisians do.
While this book's been out for some time now, I'm just now getting to really delve into it. (I know, I know....)
If you haven't picked it up at all, you definitely should. Called a 'style guide' (although much more than the ho-hum basic guides out) & written by uber chic Ines de la Fressange, Parisian Chic is a great reference to Ines' favorite stores like Swildens for clothes, Emmanuelle Zysman for jewelry and a ton of others for home, restaurants, beauty and Paris' best hot spots.

Style Chameleon - Shala Monroque.
Tastemakers know her as an ever changing style star and friend of Miuccia Prada. But the 32 year old from St. Lucia is also the creative director of Garage Magazine, publishes her blog, Shala's Rabbit Hole and appears in the pages of Vogue, Harper's Bazaar and Town & Country on a regular basis.
For those that don't know, get to know Shala Monroque.

Beaded Beauty.
Every now and then I find something that's just so beautiful, I consider it a form of art. This vintage dress appears to be handmade as it has no label inside. Not sure where I'll wear it but it must be somewhere special.
